NeDi V 1.8 Training

Remo Rickli

Remo Rickli started developing NeDi (Network Discovery) at the Paul Scherrer Institute in 2001. In 2018 Remo Rickli has released version 1.8.

NeDi discovers, maps and inventories your network devices and tracks connected end-nodes. It contains a lot of features and capability in a friendly program for managing enterprise networks. For example: MAC address mapping/tracking, traffic & error graphing, uptime monitoring, correlate collected syslog & trap messages with customizable notification, extensive reporting features such as device software, PoE usage, disabled interfaces, link errors, switch usage and many more. It's modular architecture allows for simple integration with other tools. For example Cacti graphs can be created purely based on discovered information.

This 2 day class focusses on explaining the architecture and the components and getting NeDi up and running. Next we’ll look at how the discovery works and can be optimized for your network. Then we move on to the modular GUI, starting with the basics up to creating comprehensive reports, smart monitoring and troubleshooting your network. Last but not least we’ll talk about customizing NeDi and integrating it into existing tools you might have.

Take this unique opportunity. Get to know NeDi directly form the developer and that in Berne!
